Designing a 3D Virtual Environment for Teaching IOT

The aim of the project is to develop a virtual three-dimensional laboratory environment and provide education of the internet of things on this platform.
When we investigated similar previous projects, we realized that they are about language teaching in a virtual world. Different from previous projects, our project will be about something that has not been mentioned before: Teaching IoT (Internet of Things) in a 3D virtual classroom. At the end of this project, we will create a virtual classroom where IoT is taught, and innovative and different training contents which can be used during these classes. Besides a virtual classroom, a virtual centre where students do research and development will be created.
This project should be carried our transnationally as exchanging good practices is one of the major aims. Our universities and educational administration institutions are already giving education on programming. But making international observations, experiencing different teaching practices from different countries has the potential of providing valuable outcomes for the participants. Thanks to the project activities, teachers and educators from every partner institution will have chance to take part an international teaching and learning event and to be able to see different platforms used in IoT (Internet of Things) in different countries.
As an innovative part in our project, not only we will design teaching environments, but also the local partner in our project will make pilot studies to evaluate the productivity and the effect of this virtual environment. After this evaluation, we will revise the designs and make sure that the effect of this teaching environment will be at top level.
